Where we've been.... Where we're going...

The common raven (Corvus corax) is a large passerine (or perching bird) and a member Corvidae family of birds, which includes jays, crows, and magpies. They can average 25 inches in length and 2.6 pounds. They are notorious scavengers and will hide or cache food supplies. Their unique call is easily recognized; the deep, resonant “kaw” or “prruk prruk prruk” or “glook” is its trademark. __________________________________ Port Alsworth - Alaska #AK #akprojectdiscover #raven #bigblackbirds #portalsworth #lakeclarknps

It’s fun to look for ice shapes as the lakes freeze. Different ice shapes form in different areas of the lake and the patterns they make are quite beautiful! ______________________________________ Lake Iliamna - Alaska #AK #lakeiliamna ##akprojectdiscover #cessna #c207 #flyitlikeyoustolit #flylakeckarkair @lake_clark_air

One of my favorite parts of wintertime flying is watching the ice form on our larger lakes. This is Lake Iliamna, over 70 miles long and 20 miles wide. It’s takes a while for this behemoth to freeze up, but what else would you expect from the largest lakes in the U.S.? _____________________________________ Lake Iliamna - Alaska #AK #lakeiliamna ##akprojectdiscover #cessna #c207 #flyitlikeyoustolit #flylakeckarkair @lake_clark_air

A brief stop in Iliamna, AK to watch the sunset on the way home today. A brisk outside temperature of -4°F keeps you awake while flying in this Cessna 207. _________________________________________________ Iliamna - Alaska #AK #iliamna #cessna #c207 #flyitlikeyoustolit #flylakeclarkair @lake_clark_air
