Some call it "Football'

My son had his first soccer practice this past week. I used the opportunity to play sports photographer! The boy has some good raw talent. The coaching staff started teaching positions and basic ball control right away, and the kids seemed to be grasping the concepts quite well. When scrimmage time came around though, it all pretty much turned into "herd" ball.

Intimidation!

Run boy, run!

Swim Party

Our church has a end of summer swim party. The kids did great, those swimming lessons are really paying off. This year the diving boards were the challenge.

The low dive.

The low dive with flair!

Logan getting totally tweaked, boneless, mutated air!

A brave little man on the high dive, and he jumped!

Basic Addition

Since school is now in session and picking up momentum, I thought I would take this opportunity to review some basic arithmetic principles, and a new one we learned this week.
Let's start with an easy one.
1 + 1 = ? Answer: 2

Try this one.
Two trains are traveling at night in opposite directions. Train A is traveling one-third the speed of train B, and train B is on a collision course with train C which is traveling one-sixth the speed of train B. Which train has the most people? Nah, Just Kidding!

This is the new principle we learned this week.
What do you get when you add one boy:

with one rusty old T-post?

Answer: 3

Three stitches! He now holds the family record for the most stitches, beating me by one stitch!.

We don't Need No Education.....

Wow, has the summer flown by or what? We managed to get all the school supplies, clothes, shoes, and backpacks, just in time for the first day of school. Our son is a first grader and has jumped right back into his group of friends, and enjoys the anticipation of learning new things in his new class. Our oldest daughter is going to Kindergarten. We took her to see her classroom the night before school started and were able to meet her teacher, bring her school supplies, and check out her desk. She has half-day classes for the first few months, but is already wishing she could stay all day. This Friday she was even disappointed that they couldn't go to school on Saturday! (that is not a genetic trait!). Our youngest was convinced that she was also going to school, but has since enjoyed having Mom all to her self.
